The game is set 5 years after the events of the original Dead Rising. The zombie parasite that originated in Santa Cabeza and caused the Willamette outbreak has spread all over the United States. This is due to the 50 orphans scattered throughout the United States who had been injected with the parasite; subjecting them to zombification and infecting the rest of the US (This can be told through Overtime Mode upon achieving the A-Rank ending in Dead Rising 1). The game will take place in the fictional setting of Fortune City, which is modeled after the real-life city of Las Vegas, Nevada. Chuck Greene, a former national motocross champion, is somehow caught in the middle of the zombie apocalypse in Fortune City. Just like Frank West (the player-character fr

Added a step that allows you to save your progress.
If anyone was wondering, you can play split screen on a PC just like L4D1. All you need is a spare controller. If you don't know what a developer console is, this guide is probably not for you. Ask a friend for help or see another guide.
HINT FOR CONSOLE NEWBIES:
I've noticed a lot of people having trouble running exec or ss_map. It's usually just a typo. To save yourself a lot of time and trouble, try pushing the TAB key when you type. The Source engine has something called tab completion built into the console - it will try to fill in whatever you are typing or give you possible results as you type.

Mods for dead rising 2
- date: October 1, 2010
Has anyone come across any mods for this game or heard of anyone working on them . Bastard game companys ! most dont release mod tools afraid they cant nickel and dime you with dlc , but what that dont realize is some of the most best selling games have mod ablity ...TF2 , left4dead 1 and 2 , fallout 3 . Dumb game publishers they would make more money with mods because more ppl would buy the game . They will never learn .
If you hear of any mods for this game post and please let us all know .

Dead Rising 2, 72 hour mode opinion?
- date: August 18, 2010
I been playing dead rising 1 again. And i realised why i stopped playing it.
Because the time limits you have for missions are ridiculas. And theres that much going on at one time you get soo confused at what to do next. You always miss something and because your trying to rush everywhere to do the missions it loses its fun.
Now ive been doing sum research on Dead Rising 2 to see if they have changed the system.
But i found out its the same! but the game looks really fun and the setting is soo much better, the graphics looks awesome. And the character actaully looks cool and likeable in this one. But the time limits are really putting me off this game.
Will you still buy it this mode is still in the 2nd?
If there was a Dead Rising 2, .......

Trophy Help [Dead Rising 2]
- date: May 9, 2013
I recently went back to playing Dead Rising 2. I played it for a bit back when it came out, but then got distracted by other things, only picking it back up this month. I'm trying for trophies right now, but it occurs to me that this late in the game it's going to be very difficult to get the last remaining Terror is Reality trophy (TK's Favorite) due to the fact that no one is playing TIR anymore. I have a friend who also needs that trophy, so he's willing to help out, but that's still only 2/4 players.
This is a long shot, but does anyone here still own a copy of the original Dead Rising 2 and is willing to jump-in and help us get these trophies?
