so the raptor jesus wikipedia article is flagged for deletion
- date: October 3, 2009
this is an outrage
also here's some other stuff to read, most of these are valid entries imo
While Wikipedia's mainstream entries offer the most comprehensive free reference material on the web, there is a long tail of obscure, trivial and unreliable content.
As part of the ongoing push to make the site more "encyclopedic", there is a system in place that allows volunteers to flag up dubious articles for deletion.
These pages remain live for days while Wikipedia administrators - and the original authors - debate whether the entries should be allowed, improved or removed.
Below we present 20 of the more bizarre and surprising articles flagged for deletion over the past few weeks, with extracts from the pages and some of reasons offered by moderators for why they should be erased.
Extract: "The word 'Teddymandering' is a portmanteau of Senator Edward M. Kennedy's nickname, 'Teddy', and the verb 'gerrymandering'."

and I did not expect there to be a real photograph of one of the murder scenes. Wow, that caught me off guard. Brutal ****.
Interesting Wikipedia article.

1862: Jim Creighton, baseball player, died when he swung a bat too hard and ruptured his bladder.
Is it bad if I laughed way too hard at this Wikipedia article?
- date: June 1, 2008
I don't know why, I but couldn't stop laughing. I literally spilled my Arizona ice tea all over my keyboard when I read that article.
Maybe it's because I've read both Harry Potter and The Hobbit, but the thought of the two being combined just seemed hilarious to me.
What are some other funny Wikipedia articles you guys came across before?

Five Reasons Your STAR TREK Tattoo Will (Predictably*) Not Get You Laid
by Guest Nerdist on February 12, 2009
Gather ‘round my steed, Nerd Army, heroes and red-shirts alike, for while it is not St. Crispin’s day, Admiral Chris has been kind (and gentle) enough to offer this space for a public service.
The idea hit you somewhere in the middle of the TNG boxed set. It was perfect. All those hours as a child with a TV tray over your lap, eyes glued to reruns of the original series. The countless times you brought a worn VHS copy of Wrath of Kahn to the babysitter’s. Arguing at film school in defense of Shatner.
So you made an appointment, you Photoshopped the hell out of a graphic pulled from the internet – or maybe scanned from a Halloween costume you never threw away – and you did it. You goddamn bled for Star Trek. And there it is n

So I was on Wikipedia looking up Disaster.
- date: August 2, 2008
And according to it's sources, it was indefinately delayed to bump up the overall product.
And no, im not linking, check it out for yourself if you dont belive me.
I guess perhaps graphic-wise they decided to beef up the presentation and everything else if this game is going to be a AAA title.
How many times have we seen a finished game get pushed back further and further to continually boost the production? Star Fox Adventures, Wind waker, Mario Galaxy(Mario 128), Twilight Princess?
I mean, look at Duke Nukem Forever and Too Human, each game has been in development for over a decade and theyre just finally going to come out within the next few months or so.
Im not giving up on Disaster just yet. It's been far too long in development to get cancelled now.
So, it's either getting a production bump, or it has been set aside for some other projects, but perhaps Disaster is nearly finished if it has been set aside.
Thats what I think at least, and wh
